Cobra Structures fabric buildings

FAQ

How long does the fabric building cover last?

We use a high-density polyethylene fabric (HDPE), that’s Canadian made and weighs 12 oz/yd2 (24 mils thick). This fabric building cover is designed to last 25 – 30 years with proper maintenance. We recommend a yearly tightening of the fabric to prolong its lifespan.

What is the warranty on fabric buildings?

All of our engineered fabric structures come with a prorated warranty of up to 20 years on the main fabric structure and fabric cover. Any engineered building installed by Cobra Structures includes a 1-year guarantee on workmanship.

Can I expand and relocate my fabric building at a later date?

Of course you can! One of the benefits of fabric buildings is their ease of expansion to the length of the structure. Our tension fabric buildings can be dismantled and reassembled multiple times should you wish to relocate or outgrow your current location. This means you can begin with a shorter building to suit today’s budget, while being prepared for expansion in the future.

Are all fabric buildings the same?

Absolutely not! Our engineered fabric buildings are subjected to a three tiered engineering process to guarantee the most safe and reliable structure.

There is a great disparity in the quality of fabric buildings currently available in the marketplace. Be aware of building packages that do not include engineer stamped drawings as obtaining a building permit from the local authorities will be difficult to acquire without this documentation.

Will I require a foundation for my fabric building?

The short answer is no. One of the most important ways Cobra Structures ensures the best solution for our customers is by offering fabric structures that can either be permanent, temporary, or entirely portable.

We offer a number of foundation options including a base rail system, concrete blocks, shipping sea can containers, pre-cast foundations, steel I-beams, helical anchors, and more. Site-specific reactions are provided with every fabric building, allowing us to engineer the right foundation options for your project.

How do the interior conditions differ from outside?

In addition to a fabric building providing a wind block and a shield from precipitation, the inside of the building is typically 5-10 degrees warmer in the cooler months and 5-10 degrees cooler in the warmer months. The fabric allows 80% light transfer meaning no lighting is required inside the building during daylight hours. To combat the humidity created inside fabric buildings, there are many venting options available to suit your requirements.

Can I heat my fabric building?

The short answer to this question is yes. With an abundance of options for heating and insulating our fabric buildings, we recommend contacting one of our representatives to work with you to create the best solution for your environment.

How quick can I get a fabric building delivered?

The typical delivery time for a fabric structure is 3 to 5 weeks after ordering. This may be subject to a longer lead time during peak season and for custom orders. Occasionally, Cobra Structures carries a variety of in-stock buildings for customers with an immediate need.

Can I install the fabric building myself?

We include a detailed set of construction plans with every fabric building package so that our fabric buildings can be safely installed by a crew of 3-4 people. Our support staff is available should you have any questions throughout the install process.

For customers requiring an install on a tight budget, we provide 1-2 Cobra crew members will work together with you to complete your install. Our experienced crews travel across Canada and are familiar with fabric structures from all manufacturers.
